As I walk through Times Square, deeply engrossed in my ongoing quest to capture images for “The Italian Factor,” my film on the Piccirilli, I am struck by the enduring presence of many of the statues from their era, each competing for the ever-shrinking space to communicate and establish a dialogue.
Despite the proliferation of new languages, these statues continue to engage. It’s fascinating to observe that, amid the competition of modern languages and technologies, there are still people capturing photographs of these remnants of the past.
This enduring connection highlights the timeless nature of the messages these monuments convey, resonating with audiences even today.
