The film portrays Jared Loewenstein, Founder and Curator of the Jorge Luis Borges Collection at the University of Virginia. Loewenstein’s commitment, and dedication have been instrumental in the preservation of manuscripts, first editions, letters and other documents relevant to Borges. Born in Washington, DC, Mr. Loewenstein grew up in Luray, Virginia, a rural enclave on the Western side of the Blue Ridge Mountains. In 1962 he was accepted at UVa where a few years later he would meet the Argentine writer for the first time. That first encounter would have a decisive influence in Jared Loewenstein life.
